The Rolling Stones -- Let`s Spend The Night Together

Nits - In the Dutch Mountains

The Nits are a Dutch pop group, founded in 1974. Their musical style has varied considerably over the years, as has their line-up with the core of Henk Hofstede (the group's lead singer and lyricist), Rob Kloet, drummer, Robert Jan Stips (Supersister, Gruppo Sportivo, Golden Earring), keyboards.

Their biggest hit in the Netherlands was "Nescio" (1983), a tribute to the Dutch author Jan Hendrik Frederik Grönloh. The major hit that brought the band to the attention of an international audience was "In the Dutch Mountains" (1987).

The Nits originally comprised Henk Hofstede (vocals, guitar), Alex Roelofs (bass), Michiel Pieters, (guitar) and Rob Kloet (drums). Influenced by English pop music, especially the Beatles, they also incorporated influences from New Wave music into their sound. They made their live debut in 1977 and the following year released a self-financed limited-run LP, The Nits.

Lyrics:

I was born in the valley of bricks
Where the river runs high above the rooftops
I was waiting for the cars coming home late at night
From the Dutch mountains
I was standing in the valley of rock
Up to my belly in an early fog
I was looking for the road to a green painted house
In the Dutch mountains
In the Dutch mountains
Mountains

I met a woman in the valley of stone

She was painting roses on the walls of her home
And the moon is a coin with the head of the queen
Of the Dutch mountains
In the Dutch montains

I lost a button of my shirt today

It fell on the ground
And it was rolling away
Like a trail leading me back
To the Dutch mountains
To the Dutch mountains
Mountains

I met a miller on the back of a cow

He was looking for the wind but he didn't know how
I said: Follow the cloud that looks like a sheep
In the Dutch mountains
In the Dutch mountains
In the Dutch mountains
In the Dutch mountains
Mountains
Mountains
Mountains
Mountains
Mountains
Buildings

Kool & The Gang - Cherish

Cherish Lyrics:

Let's take a walk together
near the ocean shore hand in hand you and I.

Let's cherish ev'ry moment we have been given
for time is passing by.
I often pray before I lay down by your side;

If you receive your calling before I awake
Could I make it through the night?
Cherish the love we have

we should cherish the life we live
Cherish the love

cherish the life cherish the love.

Cherish the love we have

for as long as we both shall live

The world is always changing

nothing stays the same
But love was stand the test of time.

The next life that we live in remains to be seen
Will you be by my side?
I offen pray before I lay down

by your side; . . .

Cherish the love we have we should cherish the life

we live - baby yeah -Cherish the love

cherish the life - oh yeah -cherish the love.

Cherish the love we have -while we're together -
For as long as we both shall live - will you love me -
Cherish the love cherish the life

Cherish the love cherish the life.

Cherish the love we have

we should cherish the life we live

Cherish the love cherish the life

For as long as we both shall live -
I pray that my dream will come true
Cherish the love cherish the life -

TALKING HEADS - Once in a lifetime

Talking Heads - Psycho Killer

"Psycho Killer" is a song by Talking Heads from their 1977 album Talking Heads: 77, written by David Byrne, Chris Frantz and Tina Weymouth.

The band's "signature debut hit" features lyrics which seem to represent the thoughts of a serial killer. Allmusic calls it a "deceptively funky New Wave/No Wave song ... [with] an insistent rhythm, and one of the most memorable, driving bass lines in rock & roll."

"Psycho Killer" was the only song from the album to appear on the Billboard Pop Singles chart, peaking at number 92. It placed 32nd on the Triple J Hottest 100 in 1989. It almost made the top ten in the Netherlands, peaking at #11 in 1977.
