Canned Heat - On the Road Again

Canned Heat were one of the hardest living and hardest working bands of the late sixties and through the seventies. Led by the inimitable Bob The Bear Hite, a huge man with a personality to match, they established themselves as one of the greatest white blues bands of all time. This concert from Montreux in 1973, their only appearance at the festival, captures them at their peak.

Thanks very much for featuring Canned Heat on your blog!

If you'd like to learn more about the classic-era band, I hope you'll check out my biography of their co-founder, Alan "Blind Owl" Wilson. It's at http://blindowlbio.com, and covers his early experiences with Delta blues legend Son House, his career with Canned Heat, his work as a pioneering environmental activist, and his mysterious death at the age of 27.

There's also a great family authorized tribute website at http://AlanWilsonCannedHeat.com. It's highly recommended.

Thanks again and as Canned Heat always said, don't forget to boogie!
